2nd day of Spring Yoga Class at Sandy Lane Nursery School

Today we . . . 

mindfully listened to the sound as I rang my chime . . . “If you hear my chime, it’s quiet time.”

positioned our bodies and focused in a “Show Me You Are Ready” posture and took 3 collective breaths.

reviewed the true meaning of yoga - yoga is life - It’s everything we say and do. It also helps us to be loving beings.

discussed the meaning of love and how important it is to love yourself first. Love begins with me.

relaxed our mind and body while practicing the affirmation “Love Begins with Me” - 3 x out loud, 3 x whisper, 3 x quietly and 1 x out loud.

passed around a squishy ball and shared our creativity on how to mindfully manipulate the ball; friends copied the mindful movement as we said hello to each of our friends.

practiced sun and moon salutations - sharing our love with the rising sun and moon. Sun salutations included mountain pose to extended mountain pose to rag doll to extended mountain pose and back to mountain pose. Moon salutations included mountain pose to star pose to giving ourselves a great big hug.

listened to a story about love called, “Love You by Heart!” by Peter Reynolds; emphasizing our love for thyself and others.

chose a breathing buddy to relax in a simple do-nothing pose for 2 minutes.

shared why we loved yoga to Mr. Cool emoji pillow during our feedback session.

and acknowledged our love for our 2nd yoga class - I shine my light in you as you shine your light in me. Together we are loving beings as we light up the world - Namaste - thank you!
