Today we . . .
reviewed JUST BE YOU Yoga rules - just be you, practice, listen, breathe & enjoy while engaging on a yoga mat.
positioned our body to - “Show Me You Are Ready” - simple easy pose (sukhasana) with three collective breaths in and out.
discussed and reviewed what is yoga - yoga is everything - yoga is also about building a community and having fun.
practiced breathing with a “breathing belly ball” - a Hoberman’s sphere - breathe in, our belly gets big, breathe out, our belly gets small.
rung the synergy bell - “When you hear my chime, it’s quiet time.”
created hearts with our hands to represent love and kindness for our yoga community.
practiced warrior 2 (fierce and strong leader) pose and peaceful warrior (bringing love & kindness to others). We will continue to practice these two poses for the next 3 weeks to eventually create a human heart when two children join together in these poses.
listened to a book called “Snippets” by Diane Alber and discussed why it’s important to accept all members in our yoga community.
utilized snippets (shapes) of all sizes and colors to create artwork - all shapes and sizes are accepted just as all children are accepted - just be you!
engaged in a mindful flower breath - this breath can be used when a child needs to calm the mind and body.
shared one kind thing each child will do after they leave yoga class - feedback session.
and acknowledged our gratitude for our third class together - “I shine my light in you as you shine your light in me. Together we build a community with a mindful mind while we light up the world.” "Namaste" - thank you;
